Senate Candidate Blasts Pro-Choice Rival Dr. Oz: 'I Was Conceived When My Mother Was Eleven'
I know nothing about Pennsylvania politics, and all I know about the Pennsylvania senate primary is that conservatives were upset with Trump when he endorse Dr. Oz. I don't know who Kathy Barnette is outside of this video from a debate between the Republican candidates. I don't vote in Pennsylvania, so I don't have a dog in this fight.
But there has been a lot of talk after the Roe v. Wade decision leak that Democrats will have a leg up in the November midterms. With messages like THIS, they won't.
"I was not just a lump of cells. As you can see, I'm still not just a lump of cells. My life has value, and that was one of the reasons why it was very disturbing when I saw [...] Oz running for this particular race when I've seen him on numerous occasions and specifically at 'The Breakfast Club' saying that my life was nothing more than an acorn with electrical currents."
Oz, before he decided to run as a Republican for US Senate, mocked the pro-life movement and came out in opposition to "heartbeat bills," which were the precursor to some states adopting 15-week bans.
Barnette gave Oz an opportunity to say if his position evolved on the issue. Oz refused but claims his mother-in-law, who is an ordained minister somewhere, says he's pro-life.
The big issue, other than pro-abortion supporters not knowing what repealing Roe v. Wade means, is that people think pro-choice still means "safe, legal, and rare." It hasn't been that way since 2012 when Democrats made a conscious effort to take that out of their platform. Now, "pro-choice" abortion any time, anywhere, Democrats have even stopped pretending it's just a "clump of cells" because Joe Biden admitted it's aborting a baby.
The pro-life movement has grown. The pro-abortion movement is as extreme as they've ever been. A lot of folks in the middle need to hear from people like Kathy Barnette.
