Watch: Wild Thanksgiving Eve brawl puts the hole in "Masshole" with a bottle cracked over someone's head and a nip slip
Thanksgiving Eve remains undefeated as the drinkingest holiday of the year. More so than St. Patrick's Day. More so than New Year's Eve. More so than a Saturday Night on the Long Island Drunk Train. I'm actually surprised this video from a Massachusetts townie bar was the only video to go viral. People must have been too drunk to do it for the content.
Thankfully, this guy was not. And I quote, "This place is lit."
The Thanksgiving Eve, aka Blackout Wednesday, concept is simple. Your entire crew is home from college, sometimes for the first time that year. Everyone gets together to go drinking and winds up at the local bar mixed with townies who have been drinking there since they were twelve. The two elements sometimes combust, and you get what happened at Kowloon Restaurant. Kowloon is said to be a "family-friendly restaurant," though media reports say there were already six officers there on duty in case things went down.
And down they went! We have two angles for you today. Neither angle shows what started the fight. This one shows one of the girls hitting one of the guys in the head with a bottle.
This video gives you a close-up of the bloody face, a random dude who took his shirt off for some reason, and I *think* the girl who cracked a bottle over someone's head. Who, if you look closely at her trying to escape...
No arrests were made, but an investigation into the incident is ongoing. Saugus Police Chief Michael Ricciardelli called the event "unacceptable and disgusting."
Restaurant owner Bob Wong had the audacity to blame social media: "Back in the old days, it would’ve just been a fight. But because social media is involved, it becomes bigger than it is. It’s a little more sensationalized, I guess…."
On behalf of social media, we thank the people who remembered to take their smartphones out to record the chaos. We are thankful for you.
