As a rule, if it's something Americans enjoy, there is at least one liberal somewhere to try and politicize/ruin it. A popular topic for liberals lately is comic books, but this week they seem intent on politicizing Taylor Swift. You see, Taylor Swift released a new video that had an all celebrity fighting force, and because all the celebrities were women it has to mean something more.

Or, leftists have to believe it means something more. In George Takei's world, tying two things together that have NOTHING to do with each other is a given.

Of course, they can't decide if Taylor Swift's video is pro-feminist or anti-feminist. But it definitely has to be something-ist! It can't just be a video for a songthat was so boring on its own, they needed a cis-male rapper to make it marketable. It has to be something to justify the liberal political agenda, because... shut up you patriarchist.

We write about the importance of culture and how it's more important than polics here at LwC on the regular. Why? Because we genuinely think it's an important issue, and one at which the right is being spanked handily. That said, it has to be exhausting for liberals to be so insecure in their political beliefs, that they have to find politics everywhere.

And if people want to use her to make an example, as usual, liberals are missing the important point.

She knows that she’s a role model and takes that responsibility seriously. She’s never been arrested. She’s never gotten a DUI. She doesn’t cuss or sing about sex in her songs. She hasn’t humped anything on stage. There are no drunken pictures of her.

It's just a music video. And not even a good one.
