Keith Ellison's Accuser: I've Been Smeared By My Own Party

Brodigan
September 18, 2018

Brett Kavanaugh's accuser deserves to be heard (see Kavanaugh Accuser's Lawyer: 'Not Her Responsibility to Prove Claims' and White House: Brett Kavanaugh Accuser Should Be Heard). As should Keith Ellison's accuser. Yet Democrats aren't launching a PR campaign around Karen Monahan's "credible accusations."

Ellison is the #2 honcho at the DNC and a candidate for Attorney General in Minnesota. Maybe Democrats missed the news. Or maybe much like racism and sexism, they only care about sexual assault when they can score political points. So while everyone with a D after their name is hunting Kavanaugh, Ellison is getting a free pass.

Monahan wants to know why.

Last month, Karen Monahan, ex-girlfirend of Ellison, came forward with allegations of physical and emotional abuse during her three-year relationship with the deputy DNC chair and Minnesota Attorney General candidate, claims that were first made public by her son.

As the Kavanaugh story has dominated headlines, Monahan was approached on Twitter as to how Democrats treated her versus their current treatment of Kavanaugh accuser Christine Ford.

The media also seems very quiet about this too. It's at least not getting the wall-to-wall coverage it would be getting if Ellison were a Republican.

If Democrats care about #MeToo and #YesAllWomen, they should be all over Karen Monahan's story. Of course, we know they won't be since the narrative doesn't fit. For the left, #MeToo has become a weapon, and nothing more.

Democrats dutifully ignoring Ellison's accuser, but zeroing in on Kavanaugh's is one of the many reasons many on the right think the Kavanaugh story reeks of a last-minute desperation play to block his nomination. What say you?
