There was a school shooting in Texas last week (see Ted Cruz on Santa Fe Shooting: ‘Stop Them From Getting Access to Schools’ and Chris Cuomo Admits Santa Fe Shooting Doesn’t Fit Gun Control Narrative). In times of tragedy, everyone decompresses differently. Most people unwound Friday with pointless political arguments on Twitter. Actor Josh Gad took his mind off of the shooting by going to see Deadpool 2.
On this unbelievably sad and horrific day I thank @VancityReynolds @RhettReese @paulwernick @adityasood @Kinberg & the entire team behind #deadpool2 for giving me such an inspired distraction. Laughed till it hurt. Cried till I could hide it. Needed that in a bad way. Brilliance

Yes, THAT Deadpool 2. With the guns and the shooting and the body count.
I don’t want to be too hard on Gad. Olaf’s my dude. He’s brought countless joy to two little girls who are very special to me. Even if they couldn’t tell me who he is when he’s not a talking snowman. “I’ve been impaled.”
But c’mon son. Set all Hollywood hypocrisy about guns aside. That tweet is the equivalent of Deadpool saying he went to go see The Angry Birds Movie because he felt he was laughing too much.
A little tone deaf. Also a blatant marketing push. Allegedly.
