Jordan Peterson Files Lawsuit Against Wilfred Laurier University
You may recall the Lindsay Shepherd dustup, wherein Lindsay was summoned by professors for a thought police tribunal. The crime: showing a clip of a Jordan Peterson debate. A clip which was freely available on public television. She didn't agree with Peterson, endorse him, or demand all students worship at his feet. Nevertheless, she was disciplined for showing the clip. At that same tribunal, the professors grossly maligned Peterson. For which he's fighting back.
Here's Peterson explaining:
From the Toronto Sun:
University of Toronto Professor Jordan Peterson has launched a $1.5-million defamation suit against Wilfrid Laurier University, two of its professors and a former gender and equity manager for suggesting he was “analogous to Adolf Hitler.”
The statement of claim, prepared by lawyer Howard Levitt and filed Monday, says Peterson was falsely labelled as incompetent, sexist, misogynist, dangerous and racist in a now infamous disciplinary meeting with Wilfrid Laurier University teaching assistant Lindsay Shepherd.
It's slander. The professors in the tribunal were nasty, to say the least. The same kind of professors who disagree with Jordan Peterson's stance on freedom of speech, calling his refusal to conform to government-mandated gender pronouns as "hate speech." These same kinds of professors, who claim to value civil discourse, slandered Jordan Peterson for not abiding by their flavor of civil discourse. Using the most hateful terms and analogies to do so.
“So I think this is a warning, let’s say, to other careless administrators and professors who allow their ideological presuppositions to get the best of them to be a bit more careful with what they say and do,” he said.
Actions have consequences. It's been clear the left has put Jordan Peterson in their sights for destruction. But he's not taking it lying down. He's a fighter, and he's here to stay.
