Some of us were at this point earlier than others (hi Courtney), but at this point if you still buy into the COVID shutdown bullsh!t, you're either a Democrat politician or one of the low information leftists who keep electing them (see ANDREW CUOMO GOES FULL BUTTHEAD, THREATENS RETALIATION OVER IGNORING HIS COVID REGULATIONS and DE BLASIO TELLS COVID CONTACT TRACERS: DON'T ASK ABOUT PROTESTS). Once the "scientists" started saying that from a sciency standpoint you can't catch the 'rona from protesting over things they agree with, IT'S OVER!

The damage that's been done to the alleged "experts" is the real pandemic. Because if there is a real pandemic, who do you trust? The people who got it wrong the last time? All they had to do, like Jocko suggested, was be honest. "Hey, this looks pretty bad. We need to shut down for a little bit." A few weeks go by, then, "So listen, we're still not sure what's going on, but we may have overreacted. Still stay safe by doing these few things."

Instead of shutting down, ignoring data, slowly letting your states open up out of the goodness of your hearts, arbitrarily applying guidelines based on nothing but your politics, then threatening to shut things down again because people stopped listening. Which is what they did instead.

In fact, the real damage that has been done has been BY the experts, to everyone else.

The phrase "eat a bag of dicks" gets thrown around a lot these days. Mostly by me. And usually when I'm talking about this.
