Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh gave a passionate speech in defense of life last week. Leftist haters did what they do whenever they hear an opposing viewpoint, and pro-abortion leftists are the most hateful. I had said last week that I hope he wasn't bullied into bending the knee and apologizing for his common sense comments on choosing life. Instead, during an interview with ESPN, he doubled down.

Most interesting was ESPN's question about if a student or faculty member approached Harbaraugh and said they didn't agree with his opinion and wanted to discuss it. Here's how Harbaraugh answered:

"Let’s discuss it, I have told them that. [...] I encourage them if they have a pregnancy that wasn’t planned […] Any player on our team, any female staff member, any staff member or anybody in our family, our extended family that doesn’t feel like after they have a baby that they can take care of it. We got a big house. We'll raise that baby."

What is interesting about ESPN's question isn't Harbaugh's answer, it's that the pro-abortion side who disagrees with Harbaraugh would never want to discuss it with him. They'd instead complain to higher-ups to have him fired unless he takes it all back, apologizes for being pro-life, and cuts a donation to Planned Parenthood.

Ask Patrica Heaton how willing the pro-abortion left is to discuss disagreements. Ever since Liz Warren went on the warpath against crisis pregnancy centers, the one Heaton works with needed to hire armed security all because they are an organization that provides alternatives to abortion.

I'm glad Harbaugh isn't backing down. But the idea of someone who disagrees with him on the topic wanting to have a respectful conversation is laugh-out-loud funny.
