Here's an uplifting tale to start your day. Four armed thugs tried robbing Houston native Alexander Borrego, not knowing that Borrego was a retired Marine. An armed retired Marine. Also, a much better shot. Because, Semper Fi.

One came alongside, through here, and next thing I knew I had a gun to the back of my head. They told me to get up, so, I stood up. My garage door was open so, my main concern was my family at that point.

I had my pistol in the front pouch of my hoodie. s soon as I got my hand on my pistol I turned towards the guy that had the gun at the back of my head. I immediately removed the pistol away from my head as I began firing at those guys.

Sad, but I had my pistol on me and thank God for that.

Teachable moment. This is why a smart criminal cases a joint before robbing it. They don't go running into someone's garage all willy nilly. Waving their guns in the air like they just don't care.

One of the hoodlums got popped twice, once in the chest and once in the leg. But, here's the best part:

The four boys ran from the retired Marine's house to the home of the teen who was injured. His mother took him to a hospital, investigators said. He is expected to survive.

His mommy had to drive him to the hospital.

Especially seeing as the Marine's wife and tiny tots were in the house at the time. God only knows what kind of harm those wayward ruffians could have done to them.

Thanks to the blaster in our hero's pocket, the bad guys got served some stone cold justice, and he and his family left unscathed. Don't you just love a happy ending?
