Google Fires Employee Who Penned Diversity Critical Memo. They're an Internet Super Power...
Concerned guy writes memo about the lack of intellectual diversity at Google. Internet rages over guy's refusal to conform to diversity bullhockey. Google fires the guy for writing memo exposing lack of intellectual diversity at Google. Guy has his point proven for him.
Google symbolically beheaded him, stuck his head on a pike at the village entrance as a warning others who may follow in his non-conforming path:
Except a worker did speak his opinion and got canned for it. So...
Alphabet Inc.’s Google has fired an employee who wrote an internal memo blasting the web company’s diversity policies, creating a firestorm across Silicon Valley.James Damore, the engineer who wrote the note, confirmed his dismissal in an email, saying that he had been fired for “perpetuating gender stereotypes.” He said he’s “currently exploring all possible legal remedies.”
Damore’s 10-page memorandum accused Google of silencing conservative political opinions and argued that biological differences play a role in the shortage of women in tech and leadership positions. It circulated widely inside the company and became public over the weekend, causing a furor that amplified the pressure on Google executives to take a more definitive stand.
“We are unequivocal in our belief that diversity and inclusion..."
Um. Except this guy is a conservative in a mostly liberal company. He spoke out and got canned. So Google's effort to be "diverse" and "inclusive" is as sound as Michael Moore's cholesterol.
"...are critical to our success as a company,” Brown said in the statement. “We’ll continue to stand for that and be committed to it for the long haul.”
See gif above. One cannot simply keep using the same words and expect internet rabble rousers from mocking your flaming pants off.
Long story short (too late):
Guy wrote a memo calling out crappy policies. Another guy says memo was "committing violence." This is why we can't have nice things. It may also be why certain leftist lunatics take actual action against people who have spoken or written words. Because twits who speak through their butt cheeks, like Alex Hidalgo, equate a memo with violence.
This is what we're dealing with people.
Let's also remember that Google is one of the most powerful entities on the internet. They fired a guy who dared voice opposition to diversity policies. Google serves your search results. They have their tendrils into the deepest crevices of the internet. Think about it.
Also, a memo calling out corporate policies is not violence. Just to be clear.
