Germans have a history of treating Jews badly (see: the Holocaust). But these days, German locals are supposedly more friendly toward their curly-haired cohorts. Migrant Muslims, on the other hand, are punching Jews with their halal fists. The government’s solution? Jews are told not to look so Jewy.
Recently, a message went off in Bochum’s local radio station, which largely went unnoticed, but was no less than an alarm signal. According to the announcement, the Jewish Community [of] Bochum in the future advises its members not to wear kippa or other Jewish symbols in public. The reason: In the past, there were always attacks when members of the community on the street were recognizable as Jews.
[Mostly] Turkish and Arab migrants are responsible for the attacks, the community reported.
No biggie. Apparently this happens all the time. Jews are as used to it as they are matzo ball soup.
What is now a reality [is] Bochum does not look different in many other cities in Germany… For non-Jewish Germans, the anti-Semitic excesses of Muslim migrants may be a surprise. For the Jewish community, they are part of life.
Contrary to what happened, the police have to act immediately and with all severity. The answer can and should only be: a strong rule of law, consistent intervention, a clear naming of the problem and more than just a cheap “Never again!” phrases.
Yeah, German government, what’s poppin’? Obviously the necks of German Jews. But where’s the justice for said people of Israel? PSAs aren’t going to keep Jewy-looking Jews safe, even if they’re not wearing prayer shawls. Other descriptors can give them away. Hint: head, shoulders, beards, and nose—beards and nose.
Also, let’s not forget the fact that Germany thought the solution to this problem was to tell Jews to stop with the Jewishness. Not get rid of the violent migrants. Par for the course!
