An obvious statement. Crooks aren't the smartest lot. By a long shot. But, this latest story we've got for you takes the 9mm-topped cake. A criminal mastermind picked the perfect place to stage his latest hold-up. This genius thought it a brilliant idea to rob a gun store.

Yes, you read that right...

Some details from FoxNews:

Surveillance video shows Jimmy Groover, owner of Dixie Gun and Pawn, with his back to the front of the store when the suspects entered on Dec. 26. The video shows him turning quickly and shooting, and one of the glass cabinets shatters. One of armed suspects is hit and falls to the ground. The other flees.

Cobb County police say 30-year-old Donovan Chopin died at the scene. The investigation is ongoing and the second suspect had not been caught by Thursday.

Cobb County police Officer Alicia Chilton said Groover doesn't face any charges.

This isn't the first case of an armed robber being the protagonist to his very own fatal plot twist. Because as it so happens, and as we proclaim as often as we're able when a bad guy with a gun is confronted with "victims" who express their mutual love of firearms by aiming to kill, the baddie's dastardly plans to loot or murder, go rather the other way.

Of course what Donovan Chopin did at Dixie Gun and Pawn might be more of the world's way of improving evolution. Whoever thought robbing a gun store was a swell idea? Isn't there a course in How to Be a Criminal Mastermind, which states "Thou shalt not enter a place filled with weapons if thou seeks to live longer than a fruit fly?" Kids, be cool. Stay in school.

Leftists would have you believe these kinds of situations, where a good guy defends himself from a malevolent dingus with the intellectual capacity of a butter knife, never happen. These same leftists promise you "guns never solve problems." Survey says: LOL! With the Second Amendment, if the lead is going to fly, at least it might fly in the right direction. Toward the baddy-no-goodies' aortas.
