George H.W. Bush Shaves Head for Cancer-Stricken Boy. Still Friends Years Later...
Sometimes it's nice to take a little break from the political swamp and appreciate the sweeter things in life. The holidays are the time to decompress from the post-election, raging, leftist crapstorm. And Thanksgiving is the perfect opportunity to remind ourselves of what we're thankful for. Like Obama peacing out from the White House. Or bacon.
Thanksgiving may have already passed, but the feeling of thankfulness still lingers. George H.W. Bush recently took to Twitter to share with us what he's thankful for this year. Ready the Kleenex...
Three years after shaving his head to show support for a toddler battling leukemia, Former President George H.W. Bush says that same boy is "feeling and doing much better."The 92-year-old Bush provided an update and a new picture of him with the boy. The boy is the son of a Secret Service agent and has been identified only as Patrick. Both Bush and the boy have hair in the new photo.
George is over 90 years old. He's seen and done some stuff. Also, being that old can be a painful suckfest. You'd think the guy would be a Bernie-esque, bitter curmudgeon by now (see IRONY ALERT: Bernie Sanders is One Cheap Tipper!). Instead? He's busy cheering up and keeping tabs on kids with cancer. That's our former President.
Something we're thankful for? Presidents who still manage to do great things and warm our hearts, even long after their term has ended (see George W. Bush Is Still Leading - By Example). Also the fact that Hillary didn't pull off securing the Oval Office for herself, even after it was practically in her bony clutches. But mostly bacon.
Speaking of things worth appreciating...
