Well, according to an Oregon judge, the price tag of choosing not to violate your conscience is around $135,000.

Aaron and Melissa Klein who own Sweet Cakes by Melissa in Gresham, Oregon refused to supply a cake for a wedding of two women.  The state decided that was how much the the lesbian couple deserved because of the “emotional suffering” resulting from having to get their cake from one of the numerous other bakeries in the Portland suburbs. Frosting is serious business.

The Daily Signal reports on the “symptoms” experienced by the lesbian couple:

Examples of symptoms include “acute loss of confidence,” “doubt,” “excessive sleep,” “felt mentally raped, dirty and shameful,” “high blood pressure,” “impaired digestion,” “loss of appetite,” “migraine headaches,” “pale and sick at home after work,” “resumption of smoking habit,” “shock” “stunned,” “surprise,” “uncertainty,” “weight gain” and “worry.”

So are all lesbians this wimpy? “Mentally raped?” Hey, can we delegitimize that word any more? If not, just throw it on the pile with “racism”, “hate”, and all the other words progressive nut-cases have robbed of their meaning in the name of stamping out freedom—especially the freedom of Christians to live according to their faith. Do you think the state would effectively put an Islamic bakery out of business under the same circumstances?
