Medical autonomy is the right of individuals to make their own healthcare decisions. This can only come to fruition through informed consent when the patient is provided with any proposed treatments or possible benefits and risks. But rather than allow bodily autonomy, the French government has taken the path of medical paternalism.

Policymakers have decided to treat patients like children who should not be allowed to make their own decisions - no matter if the outcome is good or bad.

The lower house just passed a bill that could jail those who oppose COVID-19 vaccines or chemotherapy through legislation that includes fines of 45,000 euros or several years in jail. And it’s probably safe to assume that the majority of those who voted for the bill are not a doctor or what one the left would call an “expert.” This means that people who have no experience in the medical field just took away patients' rights to full bodily autonomy.

I think it’s also safe to assume that there won't be any punishment for officials who voted for this if someone is injured or dies as a result of this law.

A new piece of legislation in France is drawing criticism for its potential to jail those opposing health treatments like COVID vaccines or even chemotherapy. The bill, named Fight Against Sectarian Aberrations, passed through France's National Assembly last year.

Punishments in the legislation include fines of up to 45,000 euros or three years in jail for those found guilty of advising individuals against “medical treatments” that are “obviously suitable”, reports the Western Standard.

One legislator, Thomas Ménagé, who represents Marine Le Pen's National Rally party, described the law as an attack on freedom. Another, from a left-wing alliance, suggested the legislation had potential for abuse.

"The sincerity of this fight against dangerous sectarian developments must not consist in punishing complementary care practices or the consumption of phytotherapeutic products by law," said Jean-François Coulomme.

How can someone make an informed decision when people are not even allowed to hear all the information?

That’s not how science works. Science is not based on consensus and new information is constantly being discovered. But what they did in the lower house is exactly how “the science” works. Which means political science takes precedence over informed consent.

Lawmakers have decided to make medical decisions for the entire nation, and none of it is based on science.

One of the many things we learned from the Panny D was that there is arguably some sort of global corruption that is pushed through medical coercion and many people woke up to that. But four years later, officials around the world who were part of this can't seem to relinquish the powers they once had over the masses. That is why we are still seeing paternalist laws regarding COVID in 2024.

Nothing has become more clear in the last several years than the calamity you get when you combine bureaucracy and medicine. And the only solution to prevent this is to never acquiesce to the "experts" or "the science."
