Fox News Issues Apology for Michael Knowles' Greta Thunberg Comments
On Monday night, MugClub wannabe Michael Knowles upset the left by criticizing the alleged adults exploiting Greta Thunberg. Knowles is of the belief that it is wrong to terrorize children -- especially children with Aspergers who are also OCD -- with tales of the world ending. Then putting those children on a national stage to push your agenda. Enough on the left were outraged by this that they bullied an apology out of -- checks notes -- Fox News?
A Fox News spokesperson provided the following statement to The Daily Beast on Knowles’ remarks: “The comment made by Michael Knowles who was a guest on The Story tonight was disgraceful—we apologize to Greta Thunberg and to our viewers.”
Fox News also told The Hollywood Reporter’s Jeremy Barr that it has no plans to book Knowles again as a guest.
To recap, these were the comments:
"You're a grown man and you're attacking a child. Shame on you," said Chris Hahn during a discussion on… https://t.co/Xf1DNDuyEW— Washington Examiner (@Washington Examiner) 1569283554.0
Here's the thing, I feel that most reasonable people agree attacking a 16-year-old is bad form. Yes, anyone who enters the arena is fair game. Especially if they are actively pushing extreme policies (see Hogg, David). But nothing about Thunberg says to me "I am choosing to be here of my own accord." It's the fault of her parents and the adult activists around her who are exploiting the poor girl. That's who Knowles was criticizing. That's who anyone with half of an IQ point knows Knowles was criticizing. But speaking ill of any member of the Church of Climate Alarmism is blasphemy.
As for FoxNews, they used to be able to tell when leftist activists were attacking them for bullsh!t reasons. It would appear they can no longer distinguish reasons people are now attacking them. I guess it was a good run while it lasted.
