Flashback: Mother Teresa Schools Liberals on Abortion...
It's not shocking the Clintons are pro-abortion (see Hillary Clinton Supports Down Syndrome and Gender-Based Abortions and Chelsea Clinton Claims She left the Church over Abortion… When she was Six?!). What is shocking is seeing them called out for it, albeit not by name, by Mother Teresa. A woman who was so small she could barely see over the podium.
It was President Clinton's prayer breakfast. That's how long ago it was. And though she didn't say "Bill Clinton, abortion is murder," she didn't need to. Mother Teresa was invited to the Clinton party. Then took the opportunity to shame the Clintons. At their own party. Years before Ben Carson did the same at Obama's prayer breakfast.
"Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want."Each child is created in the special image and likeness of God for greater things — to love and to be loved. In this year of the family we must bring the child back to the center of our care and concern. This is the only way that our world can survive because our children are the only hope for the future. As older people are called to God, only their children can take their places.
But what does God say to us? He says: “Even if a mother could forget her child, I will not forget you. I have carved you in the palm of my hand.”
We are carved in the palm of His hand; that unborn child has been carved in the hand of God from conception and is called by God to love and loved, not only now in this life, but forever. God can never forget us."
Your basic, milquetoast pro-life speech until...
“Please don’t kill the child.”
"Please don’t kill the child."
Everyone of us in the pro-life movement knows exactly what she means by: Please don't kill the child. Leftists will do everything they can to ignore the humanity of the unborn child when discussing abortion. Even omitting the word "abortion." Read Dear Liberal Women: No, Getting an Abortion is Not 'Brave'... For leftists, abortion is about "empowerment." It's about "control" over a woman's "body." Even though science, an area of study leftists claim to hold close (when they're not claiming men are women if they feel like women), clearly dictates a baby lives inside a mother, it isn't the mother's body. Seriously, every time I have to type that, I die a little inside. Not literally. Figuratively. Words.
No matter your religion, if you're a member of the pro-life community, what Mother Teresa did in the video above? Not only did her words need saying, not only do her sentiments bear repeating all these years later, Mother Teresa's actions were brave. A small, tiny old woman stood in front of some of the most powerful people on the planet and shamed them.
She stood up for life. She didn't wear a bikini while ugly. In 2016, one of these things is considered "brave." I'll let you guess which.
Life and death...
The stakes with abortion are high. Life and death. The pro-life community is made up of all faiths, ethnicities, and genders. I'm not up on how many genders there are (so hard to keep track), but there are probably a few pro-lifers in each gender category, yes? I mean we don't want to assume all genders are monolithic, lest I get lectured on the Twitters about how close-minded I am. I say that only because the ladies who think they're dudes got all hurty over the #IfMenHadPeriods campaign. Welcome to 2016.
Mother Teresa is dead now. I don't mean that as a "hahaha, she's dead now!" but as stating a fact. We can no longer rely on a short-statured woman to school our political leaders about the facts of life. So let's remember Mother Teresa for the brave little soldier she was, but use her example as inspiration to all of us still alive, still able to fight abortion.
Because we have another Clinton with great White House hopes...
