Most of the outrage over Trump getting a second Supreme Court pick (see TOP 5 Liberal Supreme Court Freak Outs and LISTEN to DNC Committee Hearing of Justice Kennedy's Retirement) is because of the judicial filibuster. Otherwise known as the "Nuclear option." We can thank Majority Leader at the time Harry Reid. Who changed the 60 votes required for a "super majority" filibuster to just 51 votes. The Nuclear option was originally for lower courts. Reid opened the door. Current Majority Leader Mitch McConnell walked through it, saying "I warned all y'all" and applied Reid's Nuclear option to Supreme Court picks.

Oops.

There are many on the left who conveniently forgot they started the "Nuclear option." Twitter user @Neoavatara tweeted out a few of the highlights. Just to jog their memories.

Harry Reid needs to be given an award. Maybe a case of Turtle Wax. Or a year's supply of Rice-a-Roni.

Ezra Klein was all about the Nuclear option a few years ago. What changed, Ezra?

And of course, Obama himself.

Hypocrisy doesn't lie solely on the left. Plenty on the right are hypocrites too. The Supreme Court is one of those areas of rank tribalism where everyone has the exact opposite opinion than they do when the other tribe is in charge. Okay?

And as one of those hypocritical righties, I say:

Because the cascading tears of leftism are too delicious to pass up in order to take a moral high road. Let's enjoy this moment.
