Fighter Don Frye's Tear-Jerking Story: Competing After 9/11

Steven Crowder
May 09, 2015

This is a palate-cleanser, but a really good one. As an MMA fan, I remember watching this moment when it happened. But most people have never heard it told first-hand from the legend himself, Don Frye.

Don Frye is one of the toughest men to ever step foot in the ring. Unprepared, injured and out of shape, he got the call to fight at Tokyo Superdome just two weeks after 9/11. He answered it in an epic way. Just trust me, this story is worth a watch, and it'll make you proud to be an American.

"They hired me to be the bad guy... I was used to being booed... I was carrying the flag, on a pole, the proper way. I went out there and I was doing this to Osama Bin Laden..."
