Editor's Pick: Fatherhood Is a Crash Course In Being More
Brandon Morse is one of my oldest friends in the conservative movement. We go back many years, many beers, and many podcasts ago. Point of information, he's who recommended me to Crowder for this website. Yes, it's his fault!
Brandon also recently became a father for the first time, and shared his thoughts on RedState in a post called "Fatherhood is a Crash Course in Being More." I've only reached the level of "Uncle," and know how life-altering that was. Brandon defeated the boss level and last month welcomed his first son into the world. This part I thought was key:
"While I’m not one to call myself an important person, I am important to him. It’s my job to be. To the boy, I’m an integral part of his life and development. It makes my decaffeinated, tired brain enthusiastic about sitting in the dark and watching a storm."
"Honestly, I hope more men get to sit and watch a storm with their fussy infants. This isn’t easy and life as you know it won’t ever revert back to what you had before both in macro and micro ways (it took me over two hours to write this article because I kept having to attend to him) but there’s a strange peace in the chaos. My life is moving like it hasn’t before, and that movement brings its own comfort and fulfillment."
You can read the entire article -- which I highly recommend -- at RedState.com.
