Drake on Sexual Assault: 'If you don't stop touching girls imma f**k you up!'
Firstly, apolgogies to people unfamiliar with Drake's work. Lyrical references coming in like Kevin Spacey at a gay pride parade. Drake was running through the Six... Actually, Drake was really on stage in Syndey when he spotted an audience member getting handsy with one of the women in the audience. And you know how that s*** go:
Drake jumped to the defence of his female fans at his Sydney after party on Wednesday. The Canadian rapper, 31, was filmed threatening a male concertgoer after catching him 'touching and feeling on girls', in a clip which was shared online.
Midway through his performance, Drake slammed the male fan, telling him: 'If you don't stop touching girls imma (sic) come out there and f**k you up!'
Started from the bottom, now we're here,
Started from the bottom now my whole team is f**king you up!
I guess the guy should have called her on his cell phone late night when needed her love instead...
Told you the Drake references were incoming. If they went over your head, just think how the handsy schmuck in the audience felt when a guy on stage exposed his game.
On one hand, Hollywood A-listers have looked the other way as Harvey Weinstein rapes their friends (see Matt Damon: ‘I Knew Harvey was a Womanizer, But I Didn’t Know Anything Else…’ and George Clooney Deflects on Weinstein Scandal. Claims EVERYBODY is Raping…). On the other hand, Drake steps in as one of his lady fans is getting felt up, stops his concert, and has the guy tossed. To be left in an alley with Weinstein's wilted, potted plants. No fake love here.
Let's run through a mental exercise. If Drake were Hollywood here, and Hollywood caught someone on their worst behavior, he'd give long monologues about rape culture. To make up lacking the balls to actually affect change. Project his failures onto the rest of the audience with sanctimonious clap trap.
I'm just glad Drake isn't Hollywood. But maybe they should take notes. Copious notes.
