Israel’s security forces are installing metal detectors around Jerusalem. This is how a country who’s serious about the security of its people handles defense against terror attacks. Action, not rhetoric.
“The detectors are being placed in line with security assessments, field analysis and threats, in order to bolster security for city residents and its many visitors,” a police statement read.
The detectors have been installed at the Jaffa Gate, Damascus Gate, Hagai Street, the Via Dolorosa and Hashalshelet Street.
What’s interesting is this quote from Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, who called on licensed gun owning Israelis to carry arms:
“I have a licensed gun. Every time there is tension, I instruct people who are allowed to carry weapons and are experienced in using them to carry their guns with them. If you check, you’ll see that in many cases, those who neutralized terrorists were citizens who aren’t necessarily police officers, like former soldiers.”
So, let me see. Limiting who is allowed in the city so that you can know who’s coming and going? Check. Encouraging people to defend themselves with guns? Check. Not letting any politically correct semantics get in the way of limiting who is allowed in the city, while encouraging people to defend themselves? Check. Having a badass leader like Bibi Netanyahu who silences the UN with his death stare? Triple check.
Can someone send this Mayor to Detroit?
