You know how we hear that Detroit isn’t so bad if you just get to know the city a bit? Also that our assessment of it being one giant crap hole where you might get raped, sliced and diced, shot to bits, or at least mugged (on a good day) is a total exaggeration? Well we decided to put our lives on the line by driving through Detroit, not just downtown, but real Detroit, to show just how awful a place it is.
This is an unedited video, because if we hear any liberal whining about “THIS IS EDITED,” we’d have to hunt you down, kidnap and blindfold you, then drop you in the middle of Detroit. Edit that, wimp.
Notice how horrible this place is? Poverty everywhere. Homes in disrepair. Misery on the rise. Detroit is the result of liberal policies run amok. The rest of the USA will look just like Detroit if liberals like Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton have their way.

My question is: What kind of car are you driving? Detroit, Flint and other great cities were thriving along with Michigan economy because of the auto industry. If a car is made in the U.S. or overseas it really matters where the profits go. United States, Japan, Korea, etc. It all trickles down no matter what anyone says.

I lived north of Metro Detroit for 20+years, and in Clinton Twp for 4 years before returning to my “roots” in FL a few years ago. This is 100% accurate. That being said, I miss “Detroit” and Michigan in general. Great people and a great State. I’ve always been perfectly safe at every one of the hundreds of Redwings, Lions, Tigers, (and even Pontiac Piston’s) games I’ve attended, safe at every concert, and safe in the Greektown area. Sure, there’s very bad areas where people with common sense avoid, but you have that in every city in every State. I don’t know what the point of this video was, other than to shit on a city that’s been shit on enough already. Yes, Democratic “leadership” and the UAW has really destroyed this once great(est) city in the U.S. but what did making this video do to improve anything? Actually, a lot of Detroit’s problems didn’t come from the auto industry going down, it went down because of Coleman Young, and his successor’s. The darker side of the population raised so much hell, because of “inequality” as they put it, that Coleman hound decided to bus kids around to get the young black kids to go to the “better” schools that the white folks went to. This led to fights, and more racial tension in our schools. Then, the schools had to lower their standards, because so many kids were failing. Teachers were overwhelmed, white parents said enough is enough, so, the whites left, and took their money with them, after all, there were plenty of other areas around to settle, that, Coleman Young, and his idea of “government” didn’t have any jurisdiction. They didn’t want their kids to get a substandard education, because some of the brats wanted to fight, and act like animals. They built homes in areas where the darker side couldn’t afford to live, and, if they could, they understood that, they had to make the grade and behave. This is why most of the communities around Detroit are doing “OK”. Coleman Young raised taxed through the roof, on a gamble to raise money that he was loosing due to white flight, causing the car companies to go elsewhere. An easy thing to do since property around Detroit wasn’t getting taxed so high. This is really a shame, because Detroit was once a spectacular city, with rich tradition, and, the center of the industrial age for almost 200 years. All it took was some unwise idiots to screw it up….kinda like the ” poor” idiots that are protesting in Mississippi, they want all these benefits for free, along with a college education. All of us know how that cheapens the education process, and, since these folks have managed to get so much help to “make things affordable”, you can see how they took care of it, just a group of people who want to blame everything that happens to them on “Whitey”, instead of taking responsibility for their own actions. Some of them reject education, and anything that whitey has done, to the point of cutting off their nose to spite their face. Now, to be perfectly P.C. , there are a great many of these people who have done great, and embraced education, and made something out of themselves, but, you hear them bitching, they worked hard, and, smart to get somewhere——anywhere but Detroit.
I don’t understand the point of this video? Is it an attempt to bring attention to a city that still needs a lot of rebuilding and call for reform? Or was it simply making a joke at the expense of those trying to bring positive energy back to the city becasie apparently they’re influence hasn’t moved quickly and widespread enough for your taste?
This just came across as pointless commentary – what was the solution to what you encountered downtown? Or are you just saying the people in Detroit haven’t found an all inclusive one yet?
He explains several times in the video, but many people, particularly Detroit natives (who no longer live there) and hipsters (who live downtown) try to argue that Detroit is still charming and/or relatively safe. They argue that it’s not as bad as we (conservatives, Steven, whoever) say it is.
This video is a direct response that shoots their arguments in the face. Drive thirty seconds down the road of an area that is somewhat OK, and it’s a poverty-stricken nightmare that is honestly the ashes of a once-prosperous city, all due to failed liberal policies and poor leadership.

I have lived in and around Detroit for 40 of my 47 year life. It is a crap hole. The entire area including many suburbs should be burnt to the ground and replaced with a toxic land fill instead. On a brighter note, Detroit has propped up the gun industry for the last 10 years…….I wish I could move!

I was born in Detroit in 1959. I remember how big it seemed with so many people all over. Then my dad moved us out in 1967 just before the riots. Our relatives all came out and stayed with us. Over the years I still spent a lot of time in the city working and going to concerts, ball games, hockey games, dining. Until about the 90’s. It was just getting too bad. My vehicles would get broken into I was robbed at gun point once, pick pocketed once and that ended any trips to Detroit that were not necessary. You will notice in the video all the open grassy areas they drive through. If you look close you will see there are still driveways all down the street where all the houses were. There were no open areas like that up until the 80’s 90’s. If you go just a couple more miles out it literally looks like a war zone. The houses have not been bulldozed they are burned out the weeds and brush is grown up. Abandoned vehicles and trash everywhere. Maybe 1 or 2 houses left inhabited in a block and they are fenced in with dogs and signs warning you not to trespass. And yes you can literally buy houses for $100. You will spend 20K to get it livable. Really miss the old city. But they got what they voted for. 50 years of liberal and union control.
Municipal
East Detroit, later changed to Eastpointe, was a wonderful city to grow up in. About 3 square miles of suburban homes and nice schools. In recent years Detroit residents started leaving the city and moving there for “a better life”. The problem is they brought their thug mentality with them. The high school now has guards, the houses are run down and businesses are closing. I don’t understand. Take pride in a new beginning. Stop the fighting, car stealing and destroying property.

What’s sad believe it or not Flint MI is worse that Detroit!!! I know I grew up in Flint…….Detroit yet gets all the attention!! Flint has higher crime higher unemployment and is an all around crap hole! The whole point of what this video is lying out is exactly what will happen to our whole country if we as citizens don’t vote wisely!
