Dear Racist Chris Rock: White Kids Get Shot Too... More, Actually.
Oh Chris, you're at it again! Saying something really, really stupid that is. It's kind of your thing. Last time around, we talked about how racist you are. Good times. This time... well, it's basically the same thing. In an interview with The Guardian for your upcoming flick, "Top Five," you said,
It’s not that it’s gotten worse, it’s just that it’s part of the 24-hour news cycle. What’s weird is that it never happens to white kids. There’s no evidence that white youngsters are any less belligerent, you know? We can go to any Wall Street bar and they are way bigger assholes than in any other black bar. But will I see cops stop shooting black kids in my lifetime? Probably not.
Get that! Cops don't shoot white kids! Because, you know, you're omniscient and have seen every shooting of every kid by police, everywhere in all of history. I'm guessing you can teleport, too. The only superpower that seems to elude you is that of box-office drawing ability.
Fact is, Chris, you're dead wrong. (Pun intended.)
From 1999-2011, 2,151 whites died by police-fire compared to 1,130 blacks. If you're able to count, that's like 1,000 more white people than black people in one decade alone.
When you take into account that black Americans are arrested at a rate 10 times higher than white Americans, your odds of being shot by police statistically increase exponentially if you're white.
Chris, you probably don't know about Gilbert Collar, a white, unarmed 18-year-old man who was killed by a black cop. You probably also haven't heard of Dillon Taylor, a white, unarmed 20-year-old shot and killed by a black policeman outside a 7-Eleven in Utah. Namely because it didn't make the news and it didn't cause completely unjustified riots. Ones which disproportional victimized black people and business owners by the way. When will you speak out for them?
In an oddly, increasingly racially charged world, Chris, you are contributing to a thug culture (yep, I used the "t" word)and creating a more volatile environment between the black community and law enforcement. The more you lie like this, the more black kids will be shot by cops. This is unabashed race-baiting at its finest. It's not factual. It's not helpful. And it needs to stop.
