Lawmakers defended the status of Washington, D.C., as a sanctuary city at a public hearing discussing a bill that would ban immigration raids on the city.

Council Member Brianne Nadeau said federal immigration raids "jeopardize residents' privacy, safety, and security..."

Mayor Muriel Bowser issued a statement reaffirming that the District is a sanctuary city, arguing it "makes our neighborhoods safer."

Do you hear that? It's the sound of a million illegal immigrants shaking their maracas in agreement.

Leftists have polarized to such extremes they've almost come full circle. According to them, enforcing immigration law is inhumane. It puts people at risk, threatening their safety and security. Much like an unvetted, bomb vested illegal. But the truth? Letting in every Tom, Dick and Harry Muhammad, Jose, and Pablo puts people at risk. Including the the legal immigrants who became Americans the right way. See, national security works. Open borders don't. Simple stuff. The proof is in the putting... illegals back into their homeland.

Alas, the left hates national security (read Dear Liberals: No, There's Nothing Racist About Securing Our Borders...). So does Europe. It didn't work out too hot for them, what with all the terrorism and rape. We don't care for those Euro trash border policies here in America. Hence why so many people voted for Donald Trump instead of another Democrat. America has spoken. We're sick of Democrats' softness on illegal immigration. Also, we just don't like you.
