It’s been a LONG year of politics, with one depressing story after another. So you know what you need? A refresher. With Easter here, this is just the thing for you. Enjoy this precious video of kids explaining what they think the story of Easter is. You’re welcome.
Compliments of Radius Church out of Los Angeles…
For Christians, Easter is a time for celebrating the resurrection of Christ. It’s a great time for fellowship and reflection on what the meaning of faith is. It isn’t about simply continuing an annual tradition. These kids are spot on in remembering the importance of this special day. But at the end of the day, it’s just that – a day – and the celebration, the church, the traditions would all be meaningless without understanding the weight of the cross.
Yes, the idea of celebrating a dead man’s promise may seem downright bizarre. The irony lies in the widely accepted alternative – teaching children that a giant rabbit annually poops out rainbow eggs for them to find. Also… chocolate. Hey, I’m not knocking it. Who doesn’t like chocolate?
If you will be celebrating Easter somehow this Sunday, think about why you’re celebrating it. Too often we roll through the motions of traditions without understanding why. You should be aware of why you enjoy the day by painting faux bunny egg-turds bright colors or attending a church service. Doing both unintentionally is equally as silly.
However you’re spending your Easter weekend, be blessed.
