Leftists Angry Over Dave Chappelle Joking about Louis C.K.'s Accuser
Dave Chappelle dropped two new Netflix comedy specials on New Year's Eve. There was a little something to piss off everyone. SJW-America can be triggered at Dave tripling down on tranny jokes and joking about #MeToo. The snowflakes living in MAGA-America will run to the nearest safe space over Trump jokes. But his Louis C.K. jokes (see Louis C.K. Breaks Silence on Accusations. Admits to Exposing Himself… and Aziz Ansari Fights Sexual Harassment, No Comment on Louis CK) appear to be grabbing all the headlines.
Not so much jokes about Louis C.K.. More like jokes about his accusers.
Chappelle mentions Schachner's story twice in his sexual harassment bit. "One lady said, 'Louis C.K. masturbated in front of me, ruined my comedy dreams,'" he says. "Word? Well, then, I dare say, madam, you may have never had a dream. Come on, man, that's a brittle spirit. That is a brittle-ass spirit, that is too much, this grown-ass woman."Chappelle compares the #MeToo movement to COINTELPRO — the 1956-1971 FBI program that investigated suspected members of the Communist Party, the Klu Klux Klan, the Socialist Workers Party and the Black Panther Party. Chappelle jokes that if C.K. had masturbated in front of civil-rights icon Martin Luther King, he doubts that King would have dropped his "dream." "Show business is just harder than that," he continues. "I know that sounds fucked up, I'm not supposed to say that, but one of these ladies was like, 'Louis C.K. was masturbating while I was on the phone with him.' Bitch, you don't know how to hang up a phone? How the fuck are you going to survive in show business if this is an actual obstacle to your dreams?"
Firstly, Chappelle didn't "defend" Louis C.K. He pointed out how a woman said Louis C.K. diddling himself stopped her own dreams. The point being, if you have a strong dream, you don't let a creepy asshole like Louis C.K. stop you. Got it?
These guys didn't get it:
People wonder why Chappelle locks up people's phones before he hits the stage. Not a mystery.
Side note worth remembering: Dave Chappelle is a comedian. He tells jokes. You don't have to like all of them. But you also don't have to protest those you don't like.
No, Dave isn't "standing by his fellow stand-up." He's not "defending" Louis C.K. Chappelle told a joke. It was one joke in two hours worth of new material. It's one thing to find the joke tasteless or unfunny. I think Chappelle is brilliant, but there were some jokes which weren't brilliant. That happens during an hour long set. Some people laugh at some jokes, some at others. We don't need to cover a joke set like Chappelle is a world leader giving a speech at the U.N. council on feminism.
But this is what the left has done with comedy: perverting it into propaganda. Jokes to the left are only funny if the comedian repeats leftists talking points back to them as if they're stuffed parrots.
