Uh Oh! New Data Shows REAL Gender Gap Within Hiring. Feminists Remain Silent...

Kacie Burnett
January 09, 2018

It's 2018 and feminists are still bitching about inequality. Still. While Meryl Streep is squawking her gullet dry over the wage gap, women CEOs make waaaaay more than men CEOs, women get sick leave for period pain, women get free tampons, women get special legal attention, women get selected to fill diversity quotas, shall I go on?

Here's another to add to the ever growing list. According to the data, one gender is way more hirable than the other. I'm sure you can venture a guess as to which one.

Resumes with obviously female names had a +48.3% higher chance of getting an interview.

This effect was initially very surprising to us, but when you think it about it, it’s really not. Dozens of studies show that women often don’t get what they deserve (basically) because they don’t ask for it. This shows that, when women do ask for what they deserve, they’re often recognized for it.

In the past several months, women across the country have become more vocal about their rights, from standing up to sexual harassment to supporting each other in the workplace. Between the clear (data-proven) benefits of hiring women, that women are outperforming men in school, and the fact that most recruiters are women (who want to support other women), it makes 100% sense why women might be getting a boost when they apply for jobs.

Whoa! So not only are we seeing a case where women aren't being discriminated against, but also being preferred. What this means? If women aren't getting work, it isn't because they don't have career options. It's because they suck.

Looks like whiny womenfolk can finally shut up about sexism now. Rejoice, feminists! You can sleep at night knowing ladies aren't being robbed of opportunity. All is well.

Of course, this isn't all that encouraging to dudes. Just glancing over the numbers, it appears ladies get preferential treatment simply because they possess vaginas and occasionally surf the crimson tide of womanly pain. Maybe men should consider appearing more feminine for job opportunities. You know, shave thine grotesquely hairy legs, have more mammary foam in the boobal region. That sort of thing.

Interestingly enough, you don't see "champions against sexism" protesting the fact that the numbers aren't exactly stacked in men's favor. But since when does progress care about them? #GirlPower
