I think I just recruited Dak Prescott to play on my fantasy football team. I mean, he’s also a solid blue chipper who will get me my points. That’s really all I care about, and it’s not like I’d draft someone from the New York Jets for speaking up about the National Anthem. Still, good on him for this.
I mean, it’s bigger than I think some of us think. It’s just important for me to go out there, hand over my heart, represent our country and just be thankful and not take anything I’ve been given and my freedom for granted.
Did I detect a slight eye-roll at the question? Remember how sports stars were asked about playing sports? Those were the days. If only we could get back to the good times where sports were about sports. #PipeDream
What’s sad is because the National Anthem has apparently become more politicized than whether your prefer Taylor Swift or Beyonce (see Of Course! Salon.com Now Says the National Anthem is Racist and OUTRAGE! Lebron James Says He’ll Stand for National Anthem. ‘All lives matter…’), a statement like Prescott’s is newsworthy. This is why the Cowboys are America’s team.
Please don’t tell me you like Beyonce.
And no, the Cowboys being “America’s Team” is not because of that meme you saw with what owner Jerry Jones said about players who kneel. That’s a bunch of hooey. Prescott is legit though.
