Watch: Canada's Assisted Suicide Program Is Disturbing And Worse Than You Thought
Yes, Die Hard is a Christmas Movie! Dare your friends to change your mind with our new Christmas long sleeve!
A report on the number of deaths from euthanasia in Canada revealed the procedure accounted for more than 4 percent of all deaths in the country in 2022. Today’s show gets into Canada’s medical assistance in dying (MAID) law.
The report also noted that this represented a growth rate of 31.2 percent for the procedure compared to the previous year and that 44,958 people have received medically assisted deaths since the introduction of federal legislation in 2016.
"Now they are just killing people in Canada,” Crowder said.
The new report comes as the Canadian government prepares to expand its assisted suicide program to those whose sole underlying condition is a mental illness. The expansion was originally planned for 2023 but was tabled until March 2024 to provide more time for territories and doctors to develop guidelines, according to the CBC.
"Now we have gotten to the point as far as the culture of death, [where we just] let people die [and] kill themselves.,” Crowder said. “Someone who is out of their mind for a mental health disorder is more likely to kill themselves in a temporary situation. [When] you alleviate the disorder, oftentimes you alleviate the suicidal ideation. Instead, the solution there is to kill yourself."
Last year, a Canadian man applied for euthanasia because he could not afford a home but reconsidered after receiving $60,000 on GoFundMe.
"You don't need a government program for this. You are putting a stamp of approval on the culture of suicide. A bullet is cheap. A cliff is free,” Crowder said. "Whether you agree with suicide ethically or not, you do not need government intervention at that point. But this is because they want you to know that this is their culture.”
No matter what the illness is, you are better off in the United States if you need to find care than in Canada.
But what is the cavalry coming over the hill?
"You hope that they are American doctors or a plane ticket," Crowder said.
US cancer survival rates remain among the highest in the world.
"Your best shot at surviving cancer is here in the United States. It is not even close," Crowder said. "[Assisted Suicide] is the alternative to the healthcare the left wants to implement in the United States."
