Cop Asks Immigrant if He's Illegal After Causing a Traffic Accident. Liberals RAGE!
Our porous border has provided SJWs with another reason to wail about Trump's deportation policies. Though this time their gripes aren't concerned with poor illegal gang members being victims of a "harsh" system (see MS-13 Gang Members Murder a Teenager in Virginia. Yeah, They’re Illegals… and YES! FBI Teams Up With Local Police to Bust MS-13 Gang Members). Their recent whinage comes after a police officer's body cam video has surfaced showing him asking an illegal hombre for his identity. The nerve.
Marcos Antonio Huete, a 31-year-old Honduran immigrant, was lying on a sidewalk next to his bicycle after being hit April 27 by a GMC Sierra pickup truck on his way to work in Key West in the Florida Keys."You illegal? Are you a legal citizen or no? Speak English? You got ID? Passport, visa, or what? a Monroe County sheriff asked Huete insistently, according to the video.
Ah, it's already sounding like a soap opera. I can almost hear the thickly-accented women screaming at one another over a dullard chico.
Hours after the accident Huete left hospital on crutches and was sent to the Krome Detention Center near Miami, where he has spent almost a month in detention pending possible deportation.Huete allegedly "darted out in front" of the pickup as it turned right across a marked crosswalk striking the rear tire of Huete's bicycle. The officer decided that the driver, a 45-year-old Key West woman, was not at fault.
That’s right, the police determined the driver was not at fault. Meaning Rico Suave here isn't a victim. Also, he was previously deported once before in 2o1o. So the officer who asked him about being an illegal? His instinct was spot on. Nonetheless, the man’s sister came to his aid in frantic fashion, screeching something or the other about rights.
"The fact that we do not have papers does not mean that we do not have rights," she said.
Actually, yeah, that’s exactly what it means.
"Asking for immigration status to a person after being hit by a car offends human rights sensitivity and is very counterproductive for effective law enforcement," said Howard Simon, executive director of the Florida chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
So the issue here is that this policeman did his job. Pop quiz: how do you think liberals would react if the person wasn't an illegal immigrant, but a white Christian with a MAGA hat? Right.
These days, anything short of giving illegals free stuff and pats on the butt is xenophobia. He should have known better, that white, cis-gender, racist copper. One must be sensitive to those who hail from South America. They have a fragile culture after all. Which is also - incidentally - prime for appropriating...
