I know that We the Internet meant their "Russell Simmons' Def Apology Jam" to be satirical. But like with most that we joke about lately, you have to wonder how long before this parody becomes reality.

I used to think I was telling it like it was. But I was actually telling it the way the patriarchy wanted it to be. I see that now. Bitch.Bullying is wrong. Mocking someone's looks is wrong. And insulting someone's choice in partner is wrong. It's all wrong. Even if it is funny.

It's like people are going to comedy clubs JUST to find something to get offended. It's all about outrage culture, where you move up the leader board the more apologies your force out of people. Or at least force their publicists to apologize on their behalf. The best way to combat outrage culture is simple: don't apologize (see Terry Crews has a Message Woke Leftists Will Hate and Kevin Hart Gives Awesome Interview About Tweet/Oscar Controversy.

Or at least don't insincerely apologize. If you honestly think you messed up, that's one thing. It's when you claim you need to rethink the way you think, and will be cutting a check to whatever activist "non" profit will make this go away. All for telling a joke. That's when not only do you suck, but you make it harder for the rest of us.
