Comedian: Red States Are More Tolerant Toward Comedy Than College Students

Corey Stallings
December 31, 2018

Once upon a time, if you were a stand-up comic, college campuses were the bee's knees. What better place to find subversive peeps who enjoy sticking it to the man. Alas, those days are far gone. These days, comedians steer clear of campuses. Like a trick-or-treater skipping Kevin Spacey's house.

This comedian made the mistake of telling "inappropriate" funnies on a campus. In typical lefty fashion, they cut his mic and put him out on his posterior. Leading him to conclude red states are far more tolerant than college campuses:

Patel, an Indian-American stand-up and former Saturday Night Live scribe, performed at Columbia University’s cultureShock event earlier this month. To paraphrase, he told the crowd no one would choose to be both black and gay given the discrimination each group faces.

Several members of the committee that hired Patel took to the stage, he recalled, eager to end his routine as soon as possible.

“College wise …in the past year I did Texas, I did a school in Alaska, did a school in Ohio …I’ve said much more offensive sh**, like anti-Trump sh**, in the reddest of states. And it’s all been fine. I’ve never been kicked off stage before."

Yep, you heard that right. I'm pretty sure this comedian falls to the left of center. Yet, here he is saying MAGA people are more receptive to provocative humor. Unlike the "tolerant" college kiddos forcing him offstage.

I can laugh at an anti-Trump joke, provided it's substance exceeds "orange man bad." Lefties, on the other hand, are too soft to be able to handle their precious pet causes being used for chuckles. These entitled turd nuggets take themselves way too seriously.

This revelation highlights an unfortunate truth. The so-called tolerant aren't really tolerant at all. Unless of course you're willing to fall in line and do their bidding.

This is why comedy is dying:
