It's nice to know that even in California, teachers going on an anti-military rant is frowned upon. Being a city councilman as well doesn't help matters. I'm sure you remember our friend Gregory Salcido (see California Teacher Filmed Calling Our Military “Dumb S**ts…” and Gary Sinise Blasts California Teacher Calling Our Military ‘Dumb S***s’). Salcido broke his silence at the city council meeting. Also breaking their silence were many of the veterans around Pico Rivera.

People who fought and bled for our country have a habit of not appreciating being called dumb s***s. Go figure.

The result was non-binding resolution calling on the teacher/councilman to resign, because it's a city council. Non-binding resolutions are all most of them know how to do.

Spoiler: Salcido isn't resigning. Though he did offer a non-apology apology that should be marveled at and studied.

"My goal as it relates to my students as it relates to the military is to get them to do everything to get to college. It's not just the military. I don't want them working at a fast-food restaurant either," he said. "I don't think it's a revelation to anybody that those who aren't stellar students usually find the military a better option. That's as plain as it's Tuesday night. That's not a criticism of anybody."

In other words, he's sticking to his "military is for dumbsh**s" narrative. There is talk of a recall election being considered.

Though it might be cheaper letting the veterans in attendance all take turns butting their boot up his ass.
