Chris Pratt: Sexual Objectification is Awesome. For Women AND Men...

Team Crowder
April 21, 2017

Chris Pratt is like an anti-hero when it comes to Hollywood actors (see Chris Pratt Classes up the Internet, Uses Instagram to Express His Faith and Chris Pratt: ‘I Only Eat What I Kill.’ Vegans Freak). Exhibit Q? The GotGv2 star thinks sexual objectification is a wonderful thing.

The problem is that male actors aren't being objectified nearly enough...

The video has nothing to do with the post. I'm just really excited for the movie.

Here's what Pratt said...

I think it’s OK, I don’t feel appalled by it. I think it’s appalling that for a long time only women were objectified, but I think if we really want to advocate for equality, it’s important to even things out. “Not objectify women less, but objectify men just as often as we objectify women. There are a lot of women who got careers out of it, and I’m using it to my advantage. And at the end of the day, our bodies are objects.

We’re just big bags of flesh and blood and meat and organs that God gives us to drive around.

On behalf of at least half the staff here at LwC, we agree and stand ready to objectify Chris Pratt as much as he wants. Not in a gay way though. In a manly way. Like two vikings.

Look, Pratt isn't advocating rape culture. So stop it before you embarrass yourself. What he's saying is, there's really nothing wrong with finding women attractive and there's nothing wrong with finding men attractive. He's made a living off of being attractive. As have many women. Human beings aren't going to stop objectifying each other. It's human to find attractive people attractive. Now sure, one can go overboard with how they react to that attraction, but that's not what we're talking about here. Stop it.

And there is no truth to the rumors that the actor has attached himself to "The Never Ending Story 2: From Russia with Love..."
