Chaos in Milwaukee After Police Shoot Armed Suspect. Because #BlackLivesMatter

Brodigan
August 14, 2016

Last night in Milwaukee, a police shooting of an armed suspect led to riot, because that's what adults do now...

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said during an overnight news conference that a 24-year-old officer with six years of experience started chasing one of the suspects -- who had a weapon. The suspect was ordered to drop his gun -- and he did not. At that point, the mayor said the officer fired several times and the individual was hit in the chest and arm by two bullets.

The suspect was shot twice -- in the arm and chest, the mayor said. His handgun was stolen during a burglary in Waukesha in March, according to police.

"The victim of that burglary reported 500 rounds of ammunition were also stolen with the handgun," police said in a statement.

Barrett indicated the officer involved in this shooting was indeed wearing a body camera and it was operating.

Seems open and shut, no? At least the facts as we know them.

But you know what happens next. Police hooting + black man x social media = facts, schmacts. LET'S RIOT!

The mayor said after the shooting, "Things got out of hand." Apparently there were individuals who were using social media to let others know they should congregate in the area. That eventually led to a violent disturbance near Sherman and Auer.

At least one automobile was set on fire and destroyed. Two police vehicles had windows broken out. In another instance, an officer was injured when the windshield on his squad was broken. The officer was taken to the hospital with a head injury.

Question. How many headlines are going to talk about what really happened, that police stopped someone who stole firearms? After all, firearms are the villain du jour, right? They get up and kill people on their own, just for fun. Buuuut let's ignore that for the time being. How many are headlines are actually going to just go #BlackLivesMatter?

Don't answer that.

It's also curious why they didn't want the Milwaukee Sheriff (see Watch Sheriff David Clarke’s Brutal Takedown of Don Lemon and YES! Sheriff Clarke Blasts Democrats in Open Letter to Black Community) at any of the press conferences.

Speaking of inaccurate #BlackLivesMatter coverage...
