Captain America Actor, Anthony Mackie Endorses...Donald Trump?!
UPDATE: Anthony Mackie has walked his statements back as a joke. Many people remain unconvinced. Read below and decide for yourself.
There has been a lot in the news about "Captain American: Sam Wilson," and how Captain America is declaring war on conservatives. Liberal artists full of hatred towards the half of the country that disagrees with them is nothing new. If you haven't heard it yet, the new Captain America fights conservatives who oppose illegal immigration, a move many think is in response to Donald Trump. But here's the funny thing; Anthony Mackie, the actor who plays Sam Wilson in the movies and will most likely be playing Captain America sometime after "Captain America: Civil War" comes out? He's a Donald Trump supporter.
"I would 100 percent want to run Trump's campaign. 100 percent," he said. "I mean, first that'll be the best party ever when he won, and second, Trump's an easy sell... When you look at Trump, he's an easy sell because you can sell him as the guy who worked his way up from nothing. And I think if you're a 'pull yourself up by your bootstraps' candidate, people would identify with that."
So, does all this praise mean that Mackie is backing Trump for the 2016 presidency? It seems so: "I'm on the bandwagon," he said. "I'm drinking the Kool-Aid!"
Granted, Donald Trump is hardly a 'pull yourself up by your bootstraps' candidate. And it could just be an actor talking out of their behind on a press junket. But the fact that the endorsement came out right after the comic? LOL so hard.
Also, this is no doubt an unpopular position for Mackie to take in Hollywood. So we've got to give him props here. But Anthony, don't expect any from the left...
