There are two types of people in this world. On one side are people who think government-run healthcare would be the bee's knees. On the other? People who have been to the crapshoot that is the post office. Any time government gets tangled up in healthcare, the people end up with shortages and inferior care. Don't believe me? Just ask this Canadian journalist...

Canadian author and journalist Malcolm Gladwell made a damming admission Sunday about the harsh reality of single-payer health care.

NBC News’ “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd, in opening his nearly 20-minute-long interview with Gladwell, bemoaned the current “partisan way of thinking” in Washington, D.C., especially when it comes to health care reform and whether health insurance is a right or a privilege.

Todd then asked Gladwell what Americans are “missing” when it comes to the sharp divisions on Capitol Hill. “The reason that Canada has single payer,” Gladwell explained, “is that Canadians had a conversation amongst themselves many, many years ago and they asked a very simple question, which is ‘What do we want from our health care?'”

“And they came to the answer that what we want is a system that covers everyone, and what that means is we’re willing to give up choice, we’re willing to give up the most high-tech solutions to various medical problems, we’re not going to have expensive, shiny hospitals,” Gladwell said.

Well, you have to credit the guy. At least he's honest...

Single-payer healthcare, whether it's Canadian or not, is rife with suckage. Healthcare devolves into a steaming pile of crap the moment government starts calling the shots. While still costing a fortune. Just like with every other thing they touch. Obamacare ring any bells (read Vox Asked for Obamacare ‘Success’ Stories to Push Liberal Agenda. It Backfired Magnificently!)? Yet, the left still tries selling us on single-payer.

The list of single-payer horror stories is as long as the line in a Canadian emergency room. Single-payer hospitals are short-staffed and backed up. To the point where it's not uncommon to see dying people get turned away from hospitals (see Single Payer ‘Success’? Even with the smorgasbord of evidence against single-payer, leftists insist on pushing it here in America. Canadian journalist guy amongst them. Something just doesn't sit well with them about quality care that's readily available. If you have half a brain about you and a desire to not perish in the waiting room, I'd recommend you not fall for their shenanigans.
