Cam Newton, what did you do? You're about to be attacked by the "not-racist" racists for this. Duck and seek cover, man.

"How does one-eighth of an inch — something so small — be the difference in such a big (subject)? And that's the thickness of our skin: one-eighth of an inch. And under that we're all the same color. You know? And that's the big picture."

"You know, a lot of scrutiny happens when athletes start talking about, you know, race, but the truth of the matter is we gotta do right by each other. No matter what color we are."

"Who am I to say 'Colin, you're wrong'? And who am I to say 'Bro, you're right'? Because we all, you know, we all have the right to think whatever we wanna think. And I respect that by everybody."

This is actually a pretty rational response. So obviously there will be outrage (see more below after we showcase our reason skills).

Cam Newton basically said a) Colin Kaepernick has a right to his opinion, and b) why do I need to have an opinion about it? I mean, we here at LwC have an opinion on it (see 49ers Colin Kaepernick Idiotically Protests National Anthem… Because Black Lives Matter? and Gold Star Mom Responds to Colin Kaepernick: ‘Shame on you…’), but that's more because opining on news is what we do. Newton, or anyone else, really doesn't need to respond to everything everyone says ever. He's an athlete. Let him play the game, for crying out loud. Remember the game? Football?

But, he spoke against the woke mafia, so...

And while not a criticism, this was where I got the term "woke mafia":

Well, the mafia, woke or not, is proving the same point they prove whenever anyone with dark skin dares say anything reasonable. That logic being: it's skin. Why are we allowing pigment to determine everything?

Yet such level-headed sentiments brought out the Twitter twerps with their racist ways, calling Cam Newton a whole host of insults.

What's really annoying is I didn't like Cam Newton. In fact I specifically cheered on the Broncos so Newton would lose. So I could watch Newton lose. For the temper tantrums. Guess what? He totally delivered. In the game he can be a real sore loser.

But now... crap. I have to rethink Newton, what with all this logic and reason he's throwing out there. With the added bonus of him irking the not-racist-but-racist Twitter basement-dwellers.

See what you guys did? Dang it.

Also, facts? They're not racist either. Not everything needs to be racist.
