California Sheriff Fights Sanctuary State Status. Makes Inmate Release Dates Public.

Courtney Kirchoff
March 27, 2018

Not all Californians are mentally unstable loons, better suited for rubber rooms, fashioned with straight jackets sewn by Hillary Clinton's "dressmaker." Huma Crotch Pocket (TM) optional. While California is one of our favorite punching bags, let the record show at least one county is giving double middle fingers to the disobedient state. The Orange County Sherrif, in efforts to make ICE's job that much easier, is making inmate release dates public.

From The Orange County Register:

As of Monday, March 26, an existing “Who’s in Jail” online database includes the date and time of inmates’ release – a move agency officials say will enhance communication with its law enforcement partners.

The release date information applies to all inmates, not just those who are suspected of being in the country illegally. But the goal is to assist agents with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE.

“This is in response to SB-54 limiting our ability to communicate with federal authorities and our concern that criminals are being released to the street when there’s another avenue to safeguard the community by handing them over (to ICE for potential deportation),” Orange County Undersheriff Don Barnes said.

SB-54 is the sanctuary state malarkey. What the OC Sheriff just said was:

If California doesn't have to follow federal law, why should a county sheriff have to follow a state law which is in violation of a federal law? If laws are just guidelines served up like kale and spinach in a salad bar, why not just follow them willy-nilly, then make a few new ones of your own?

When bureaucrats at the state level refuse to protect citizens, it then falls to the county level to protect its citizens. California is systematically failing its people all so it has cheap labor and more heads to count in the US census. More heads to count means more power in the House of Representatives. How the state will deal with Orange County is yet to be seen. Kudos to them for showing a little chutzpah to the California Gestapo.
