California is breaking all kinds of barriers. Mostly the skin barrier, with discarded heroin needles (see Experts Now Comparing San Francisco to the 'Slums of Developing Countries'). Their latest accomplishment -- making history by hiring the first illegal alien for a government position. Spoiler: she's from Mexico. Double spoiler: the position probably isn't making delicious tacos in the staff lounge. Although... nobody said the position wasn't for taco making.

Here be the details:

Lizbeth Mateo, an illegal alien and citizen of Mexico who came to the country with her parents when she was 14, is the first undocumented person to be appointed to a statewide government job in the United States. The job, to serve on the California Student Opportunity and Access Program Project Grant Advisory Committee, is an official government position that seeks to aid poor and “underserved communities” in gaining access to college.

So it isn't something stereotypical like cooking lovely Mexican foods, such as pan dulce. Her job is to help poor people get free college by way of grants: see CALIFORNIA: Universities to Give Millions in Financial Aid... to Illegal Immigrants. What better position to give to the first illegal alien to work for state government.

Mateo’s appointment was approved by the California Senate Rules Committee Wednesday.

In a statement, Mateo said illegal aliens are “underrepresented” in government. “While undocumented students have become more visible in our state, they remain underrepresented in places where decisions that affect them are being made.”

That was an actual sentence uttered out of Mateo's mouth. A jet stream of bull crap flying at record rates. We're making all kinds of history here.

We don't see many illegal aliens in government because they're not citizens. They don't have American rights. Having law-breaking criminals affect law seems somewhat redundant. But the real kicker here? This illegal immigrant apparently has a degree in law. As in the same law she continuously breaks by lounging about in the California sun.

Pair this with the Golden State's recent actions on illegal immigration (see California AG: I'll Prosecute Employers Who Work With Immigration Officials and Sanctuary State: California Mayor Warns Illegals of ICE Raid). Politicians have created a haven for aliens and their sweet votes. It's no wonder Democrats have such a strong foothold in the political underbelly of state.
