You may have noticed the recent uptick in prissy judges getting fresh with ICE agents. It's almost like they think they're above the law. Immigration officials show up at courtrooms in an attempt to corner pesky illegals, usually to no avail (see OF COURSE: Liberal Judge Appointed by Obama Blocks Trump's Sanctuary City Order). So not only are these law breaking hombres protected by sanctuary cities, but now Court Justices are shielding them. Because screw legality. Yes, that's "Justices," as in the people who are supposed to uphold the law. People who take an oath to uphold the law. The laws illegals stomp all over. So we're clear.

The latest Supreme Court Chief Justice "activist" hails from California. Hide your shock. Rather than coordinate efforts with her fellow federal authorities, she's doing everything she can to work against the law. Which, again, she took an oath to uphold.

California's Supreme Court Chief Justice has forcefully called on federal immigration agents to stop looking in California's courtrooms for people they suspect are living in the country illegally.

State Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye said Tuesday she feels it's her duty to speak out on federal policy that allows Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officials to detain people in and around courtrooms, a practice she said has been "in full force."

"If no one ever speaks out, then we can never be the land of the free and the home of the brave," Cantil-Sakauye said. "Courthouses should not be used as bait ... Enforcement policies that include stalking courthouses and arrested undocumented immigrants, the vast majority of whom pose no risk to public safety, are neither safe nor fair. I respectfully request that you refrain from this sort of enforcement in California's courthouses."

I'm going to jump right in here and say her ideas are crap. Her carefree application of the law leads state officials to harbor criminals. Much like this champ from Oregon (see Oregon Judge Helps Illegal Criminal Escape ICE Agents. Yes, Really..).

All illegal immigrants broke the law when they set their foreign footsies upon U.S. soil sans any intention of becoming naturalized. You would think this Chief Justice would care about such things. At least a teensy bit. Wrong. Because speaking out on this stuff is her duty as a bleeding-heart leftist. Laws are but guidelines, to be enforced only when one feels like it. Or to use as a cudgel against political opponents. This is California after all. They have other priorities. Like limiting the gun rights of legal citizens.

This is the left's skewed version of justice. The same folks who dig "purifying" the human race by committing genocide against unwanted babies, namely those with Down syndrome, celebrate in openly disobeying the law. Which, in this case, they're supposed to uphold and protect. This is the same side which breathes nary a peep when Antifa beats the prune juice out of old ladies (see "Anti-Fascist" Antifa Goon Assaults Woman Holding American Flag at Boston Rally). But they vehemently oppose arresting illegals for breaking the law at a courthouse. Because it's mean.
