Every leftist and their Prius-driving mother has been crying about DACA these past few weeks. No word yet on if the same leftists have offered their homes to illegal immigrants. So you already know who rushed at the chance to spout thought gas on the subject: CNN’s legion of talking colostomy bags. Blessed, goody gumdrops!
During a segment on illegal immigration, Chris Cuomo waved a biased study around as if it’d been approved and kissed by the lips of God Himself. Luckily White House budget director, Mick Mulvaney, was there to slap him back into place for his sly misleadingness.
“According to the center for American Progress, if you get rid of [Dreamers] you’d cost us $433 billion over ten years or $43 billion a year in gross domestic product. You’d cost us money by getting rid of them,” Cuomo said.
“You’re not going to get me to disagree on the value of legal immigration,” Mulvaney shot back. “Illegal immigration is a different topic. I’m not going to debate a Center for American Progress report on your show. Come on now.”
This is where Mulvaney gets cut off by the enraged clodpole. Note how Cuomo accused him of not believing in numbers. Cute. It’s rich, considering how often leftists blatantly ignore numbers. And when they do choose to embrace statistics, they tend to be sourced from studies twisted to fit their narrative in ways unsuited for the kama sutra. Despite those same statistics being drowned in a river of facts (see New Liberal Study Says Guns Don’t Deter Crime. Why It’s False… and Harvard Study Claims 87% of Women Are Sexually Harassed. Ignores Key Facts…).
When Mulvaney suggested they find multiple studies to cite for fairness, Chris changed the subject. The ole bait and switch. AKA: Uh oh, I f*cked up. Statistics are convenient until they’re no longer convenient.
Here’s a more accurate play-by-play:
Cuomo: NUMBERS MATTER!
Mulvaney: What about these numbers from this other source that’s more reputable than the toilet from which you plunged your “facts?”
Cuomo: I’m calling your mom!
It gets worse. Chris Cuomo is a leading voice on the left when it comes to DACA. He’s their strongest player. Imagine DACA like it’s grade school dodgeball. You’re team captain. The first player you pick from the lineup to play dodge ball is actually a rock.
That’s Chris Cuomo.
