Young Adults Would Ban The Bible Over What They Deem “Hate Speech”: poll

Any effort to repress one’s freedom to worship and live out deeply held beliefs is an attack on human dignity and the foundation for Western civilization. But progressives don’t care about all that. Especially Progressives in Great Britain.
Nearly a quarter of young Brits would support banning the Bible if they believed it contained 'hate speech', a recent poll conducted by Whitestone Insights revealed, according to The Christian Post.
Polling group Whitestone Insights asked 2,088 U.K. adults if they agreed with the following statement: "Unless the offending parts can be edited out, books containing what some perceive as hate speech should be banned from general sale, including if necessary religious texts such as the Bible."
Even if hate speech was a real thing, which it is not, it would make no sense to derive those morals from secular society since that is pluralistic and the goalpost is always changing. Religion must be the foundation for these sorts of things. Otherwise, it is all subjective and decided by those in power.
Young people aged 18 to 34 were the most likely to agree with this statement at 23 percent, followed by 35 to 54-year-olds at 17 percent, and people over the age of 55 were the least likely to agree at 13 percent.
It is probably safe to assume they would not think the same if it came to the Quran.
During an appearance on GBNews, Lois McLatchie from the Alliance Defending Freedom UK expressed concern over the poll results.
"We may no longer be a majority Christian population here in Britain. That's even more reason to protect freedom of speech and belief for all," said McLatchie.
She said that steps toward censorship had already been taken by the government, including the arrest of street preachers for quoting Bible verses and pro-life campaigners being taken to court for praying silently in their heads.
"Censoring one type of belief because it fails to fit with the dominant orthodoxy of our day is no better than imposing the illiberal blasphemy laws of the Middle Ages. We need a robust defense of religious freedom from those who craft our legislation and we need to educate the 'be kind' generation on the truly hateful consequences of censorship before this type of thinking creeps further into reality,” she said.
Most young people don't understand or grasp what banning “hate speech” entails. Right now, America is the only nation in the West that does not criminalize “hate speech.” Well, at least not yet. All over Western society, speech that is deemed homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, or critical of certain religions is criminalized. This undermines the distinction between the government and ordinary citizens, which is essential to freedom of thought and mind.
The most ironic thing about all this is that the usual justification for hate speech laws is intended to give the impression that all citizens are protected rather than just a favored group. However, this is not how it plays out. These laws are almost always enforced selectively. Because as we all know, you can’t have inclusion without exclusion.
