The conclusion is a controversial one, as many experts think social influences are more important to the distinctive ways that men and women think.

But scientists at New York University Langone say they've narrowed down a biological root after they took brain scans of more than 100 foetuses in the womb.

The conclusion isn't controversial at all. It's only controversial to people who proclaim to "believe in science" while believing they can change whatever they are just by consulting a cricket and wishing upon a star. Because guess who's not at all surprised that men and women have different brains: most everyone. Specifically scientists. Those are people who study science. Not to be confused with those people who believe in personal truths, gender spectrums, and the vast intellect of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Study author Professor Moriah Thomason said she was not surprised by the finding.

"There were many differences in the organisation of male and female foetal brains. That's what I would expect."

Right. Because if males and females were the same, as in not different, we wouldn't be male or female. We'd just be. The sex differences are obvious to anyone in possession of at least two of the five senses. Men and women look different, sound different, we often smell differently, feel differently, and based on the study here, we think differently. Based on our having differently wired brains.
