BREAKING: Iowa Governor Signs Strictest Abortion Law in the Nation
Not all news is dark and Stormy. See what I did there? I'd apologize but I'm not sorry. Iowa's governor Kim Reynolds signed a bill into law sure to send the pro-baby killers running for their coat-hangers.
Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a bill into law that would ban an abortion roughly six weeks into a pregnancy, just as soon as a fetal heartbeat can be detected. The bill, which is likely to trigger immediate lawsuits, will make Iowa the most restrictive state for abortions in the country. It requires doctors to conduct an ultrasound on pregnant women to test for a fetal heartbeat and to refuse to provide an abortion if it is detected.
Gosh, kind of makes sense. If one cannot detect a heartbeat from a person who just kicked it after watching Jimmy Kimmel (cause of death: boredom), doctors would be called in to find other signs of life. Or in this case, death. Only because one's body needs one's heart to beat in order for one to be considered living. Blood circulation. Google it.
Since the left wrinkles its collective face when asked "when does life begin if not at conception," seems a fair compromise is 'How about when we detect a heartbeat?"
Of course, many leftists and pro-abortionists already know the unborn child is a living thing. To them, the issue is not "when does life begin" it's "what kind of philosophical chaff can I release to excuse killing my unborn child so I may live as I wish?" That's why a pro-abortionist will say things like "personhood" and "sentience" plus a myriad of leftist claptrap sure to set your brain on fire. All to excuse murder. Read Dear Liberal Women: No, Getting an Abortion is Not “Brave."
The ban will go into effect July 1 if it isn't stopped by the courts. Pro-abortion rights groups say women often don't know they are pregnant until later in a pregnancy, and Planned Parenthood of the Heartland has said it plans to sue.
Of course they'll sue. They have millions of dollars to lose if this whole "let's not kill it if its heart is beating" trend catches on. Gotta snuff those unborn babies out whenever mama says it's time to go. Am I right? Can't have people thinking of their unborn babies as real, sentient people deserving of life.
