Bill Maher's Anti-Uber Rant So Rich in Irony, You'll Get Gout...

Brodigan
August 22, 2015

Bill Maher blasted the sharing economy on his show last night, because leftists hate it when people succeed on their own.

He starts with the class warfare boogieman (in this case the Olsen Twins), and goes down hill from there...

"...a reflection of our post-greed-is-good world, where outrageous income inequality is simply accepted, even by most of the people getting f**ked by it -- people who should be in the streets, or in unions, or at least in the voting booth, but are not.

As usual, Americans just find it easier to adapt, and that's how we got what economists now call the "sharing economy." We used to have stores that provided jobs, then commerce went on line. Now we just have apps."

Right. Instead of complaining that some people have more than we do, conservatives work and earn more for themselves, rather than demanding the government steal from high achievers. To leftists the go-to attitude equates to "whining." Whereas to them, actual whining (as seen by Big Unions demanding what they don't deserve) is seen as productive. Who knew?

We’ve all become so good at scheming, cheating, venting, raiding, gouging, and just plain f*cking each other that we woke up one day with "the sharing economy" — where the one thing we’re not sharing are the profits.

What?! I mean what the what?! Uber drivers keep 80% of the profits. And if you've ever had a conversation with at Uber driver, most of them enjoy the freedom of having a flexible schedule and enjoying what they do. That's why cab-drivers hate Uber. The Uber drivers make more money and are happier. Also, cab-drivers are miserable bastards.

"How did America end up spending sixty years fighting communism and "end up in a barter economy on Craigslist?"

Bill Maher, you're an idiot.

Contrary to what the left wants you to believe, there is a huge difference between coercion (communism) and choosing to sell things (sharing economy). Let's break it down.

Capitalism: Providing a service for which the client willingly pays and and the server willingly provides? Good.

Communism: Being forced to provide a service or face the government's wrath? Bad.

Here's the bottom line: liberals hate that Americans are succeeding without their control and/or permission. Why? Because if people can succeed and take care of themselves on their own, the government isn't needed to provide for people. Big government and communist sympathizers greatest fear is an independent populace who can care for themselves. A populace which doesn't need an ever-growing government.

Expect more demands for regulations in the name of freedom in 3, 2....
