BET Founder Praises Trump Economy: 'Bringing Black Workers Back Into the Labor Force'

Kacie Burnett
April 06, 2018

It isn't often we hear the media mention Donald Trump and black people in the same sentence without accusations of racism. When the Trumpster so much as breathes, he's convicted of white supremacy (see White Liberal Lectures AL SHARPTON for Not Calling Trump Racist). So it's a tad surprising when the BET founder commends the Trump economy for "bringing black workers back into the labor force."

While on a news outlet which isn't Fox.

Johnson, the nation's first black billionaire, spoke before Friday's jobs report, which showed nonfarm payrolls rose 103,000 in March, falling well short of the 193,000 gain economist were expecting.

"When you look at that [January report], you have to say something is going right," said Johnson, a Democrat and founder and chairman of The RLJ Cos.

"You have to take encouragement from what's happening in the labor force and the job market," Johnson told "Squawk Box." "When you look at African-American unemployment, ... you've never had African-American unemployment this low and the spread between African-Americans and whites narrowing."

A good economy is a good economy for all Americans. Regardless of whether one's skin is white, black, or stained orange from bathing in cheeto dust.

Black people enjoying the fruits of a recovering economy shouldn't warrant a ten minute clip on CNBC. It should be a fact of obviousness. Like suburb-dwellers fattening up during girl scout cookie season. A duh moment.

Thing is, leftists seem to be genuinely surprised darker Americans are doing just fine under the Trump presidency. Following the election, many people (even the melanated ones) succeeded in the workforce. As opposed to being banished by fictitious MAGA-hat-wearing employers posting "no colored folks" signs at the workplace. Keep progressives in your thoughts and prayers as they struggle to comprehend this unexpected turn of events.

While this doesn't fit the narrative the left is pushing, it does showcase the lack of proof in a culture starving for racism. No wonder crazed anti-Trumpers have to fake hate crimes. Not enough supply to meet the demand.

These numbers are only relevant so long as Democrats tar and feather America as devout practicers of systemic racism. 'Tis obviously not so. Of course, if America isn't racist that would mean Melissa Harris-Perry would be out of a job. It would mean Al Sharpton is just a loony gas bag.
