Leftist social policies and backfiring go hand in hand. Like feminists and lifetime subscriptions to Cat Fancy magazine. Thus this story is not so shocking. Just deliciously satisfying. A few months back, a gaggle of enraged womenfolk demanded BBC fix their alleged wage gap; wherein man workers made more than lady workers. Meaning women, like radio personality Claudia Winkleman, were only making a paltry 499,999 pounds. While world renowned soccer legend Gary Lineker makes more. For shame!
Well the BBC has dug up a solution. It’s sure to vex the entitled bovines even more.
The BBC proposed a 320,000 pound ($449,000) pay cap for news reporters and anchors Tuesday as the taxpayer-funded corporation tries to narrow the gap between men and women.
The BBC unveiled the pay cap just one day before lawmakers are scheduled to question the head of the corporation about the broadcaster’s pay culture. The hearing is likely to be uncomfortable for the BBC, as it is scheduled to include testimony from Carrie Gracie, the China editor who resigned the post in protest after learning her male counterparts doing the same job earned much more.
Uh oh. There’s a few holes in the logic here. They’re gaping like Hillary’s lie-propeller at the sight of an outfit which isn’t a pantsuit.
Thanks to the feminist sisterhood, any ambitious womyns who hoped to breach $500k annually will now be doomed to a fate of lesser pay. It will be as if they hit a barrier of sorts that stops them from further success. Say, it almost sounds like feminists just unwittingly created a glass ceiling of their own. Then scribbled “equality” on top.
Looks like their shameless crying didn’t work out too great in the end. There’s an old adage which states “Don’t rejoice at other’s misfortune, lest ye be punished.” Poppycock, I say. If laughing at leftist idiocy is wrong, so be it. Bring on the smiting!
A moment of silence for the real victims here, though. Innocent men and women will still suffer the consequences of this income cap. Even if they did not take part in the wage gap bitch fiesta.
Tensions over the gender pay gap flared last summer when the BBC released a list of top earners that showed many high-profile women earned far less than their male counterparts. In recent weeks, a number of the BBC’s leading male presenters agreed to take pay cuts to help reduce the disparity.
On the other hand, can’t say I feel too much pity for the men lining up to give back part of their income so as to please these squawking milquetoasts. A pair. Grow it.
We’ve already dug into why certain wage gaps exist. Women failing to ask for a higher paycheck, lack of experience, lack of availability, that sort of thing. Details which don’t fit on a protest sign or hashtag. Familiarize yourself with them below:
