Bad Guy Stopped By Good Guy with...Two Cans of Beans [VIDEO]
The most effective way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun (see Good Guy With a Gun Confronts, Kills Restaurant Shooter and Kyle Kashuv Wrecks the Left’s Mockery of “Good Guys with Guns”). Though, it would appear two cans of beans can work in a pinch.
Tip the hat to Twitchy for this one.
CANNED HEAT: Quick-thinking sheriff’s deputy sneaks behind hammer-wielding suspect at Florida grocery store—and hit… https://t.co/0KDpDDszf7— ABC News (@ABC News) 1528159049.0
Major Stanford was hoping to catch the suspect off guard and apprehend him from behind but the suspect realized he was also being approached from behind.“He saw me and then I saw the cans and it was almost like they were meant to be there,” Stanford said.
He quickly threw two cans of beans at the suspect, subduing him for a second, before all three law enforcement officials were able to apprehend him.
Thankfully the quick thinking deputy grabbed two cans and not two bottles of Gatorade on the other side of the endcap. Because really, who throws a bottle of Gatorade.
Watch. In the U.K., they'll start calling for common sense bean control.
Perhaps the most important component in fighting a bad guy isn't just the weapon of choice. It's the bravery to stand up to someone who's got more power than you (gun) to do what it takes to knock him down. Which isn't our way of saying guns aren't necessary to drop a criminal. But courage certainly is.
